During the presidential debates, in front of a television audience of 66 million Americans, Donald Trump stared at Hillary Clinton and promised:
At the time it seemed a rather grandiose pronouncement. But as of the wee hours of Wednesday morning present-elect Trump will be in a position to do precisely what he threatened. But will he? Would he?
Is Hillary Clinton in legal jeopardy? You bet she is. The demonstrable evidence presented so far indicates show Hillary Clinton has committed several criminal acts in violation of several federal laws that could logically result in thousands of criminal counts being filed against her. Donald Trump will shortly find himself between a rock and a hard place. Forget Democrats; he'll have a ton of "establishment" characters in the Republican party advising him to let bygones be bygones.
However, there are millions of voters who put Trump the White House who are expecting him to keep this campaign promise along with his many other promises. They will NOT be happy if he weasels out of doing it.
Of course, before he leaves office Barack Obama can issue a blanket pardon to Hillary Clinton for any and all crimes she may have committed. Even then a President Trump can order further investigation in the Clinton Crime Family Foundation along with a number of Clinton associates in the State Department and elsewhere.
Draining the swamp could be a very extensive endeavor. It could also be very rewarding.

Donald Trump has just made the first great decision of his presidency. He just replaced Chris Christie as chief of his transition team putting Vice President-elect Mike Pence in charge of finding hundreds (and ultimately thousands) of Executive Office appointees. Having a true conservative in charge of finding executive branch staffing for Trump to approve is a true step in the right direction if one is truly serious about draining the swamp. You can't be as effective if you have a bunch of "employees" who are working heart and soul behind the scenes to undermine your efforts. You have to have people on your team who are truly on YOUR team.

Actually what he has "backtracked" on (to use your ill-informed expression) are a couple of issues that are popular among a great many Republicans as well as Democrats. He says he'd think about keeping the provision allowing the children of insured parents to remain on the parents insurance policies as dependents until the age of 26. The other provision would be, in essence, to make sure those people with existing conditions can still receive health care under reasonable terms. Nobody is unwilling to see those in need go without treatment. By "repeal Obamacare" we don't mean get rid of every jot and tittle in the language. Hell, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. But we favor repealing the "mandate" requiring people to buy health insurance under penalty of law AND the drive to create a single source of this insurance entirely operated by the government. All Donald Trump (and a hell of a lot of other people) says he wants to do is return the health insurance industry back to the principles of free market capitalization, free enterprise, the stuff the created American greatness in the first place, AND expand upon the opportunities to allow those insurance companies to compete for business, thereby keep prices lower.

We were presented with another hopeful sign when it was reported that vice-president elect Mike Pence (and head of the presidential transition team) has eliminated a gaggle of lobbyists from the nascent Trump administration.
This can be seen as further evidence of Donald Trump's campaign promise to drain the swamp, starting with his own Executive Branch personnel.
Of course the political left is all up in arms about this and every other decision being made by Trump and his team. One day after the New York Times vowed to go back to the old fashion concept of reporting the news, they're back to acting as the PR arm of the Democrats. And outgoing Dem Senate leader Harry "hateful bastard" Reid has been providing ample evidence of why we should all be glad Democrats aren't in charge of anything.
Here's a good rule of thumb for any Republican officeholder: The more Democrats and their MSM Praetorian Guard rant and rave and foam at the mouth regarding a decision you've made, the more you should feel reassured it was a good decision.

I'm tingling with glee (which is not necessarily that same as having thrills running up my leg) over the cabinet and executive office picks being made by President-elect Donald Trump. In the news today we see Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions accepting an invitation to be the new Attorney General, Kansas Representative Mike Pompeo as CIA Director and retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn to be his national security adviser. These three men are excellent choices to help Donald Trump fulfill his campaign promise to drain the swamp. In an unconfirmed report I read former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has be chosen to be U.S. Ambassador to Israel. Huckabee has been a frequent visitor to, and friend to Israel from his first visit when he was 17 years old. There is no doubt that he would be a perfect representative to America's most important ally in the Middle East. Anyone who has read previous postings in the VRWC know I've been very skeptical of Donald Trump's ability to be as conservative as I'd like our president to be. But over the past week I have begun to dismiss my previous misgivings. I can only hope my optimism is not misguided.

OMG! Here's a story that certainly got me laughing out loud. According to the New York Post Donald Trump hosted a meeting of the big brass, news anchors and reporters from the top news and broadcast networks. According a source quoted in the story: HAHAHAHA! My favorite Trump quote from the story? "I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed." (directed to Jeff Zucker CNN chief. This posting was a natural for "Draining the Swamp" because the news media certainly have some swamp draining of their own which they should attend to. No, the President of the United States has no authority to force anything upon the news networks. But the idea that appeals to me most was that finally -- FINALLY we (meaning "the Forgotten Voters") have someone who is willing to get in their faces and call a spade a shovel.

You should advise people that, whereas this is a pretty compelling video, it isn't until the last minute of it that you get to the kicker of the story. Well done, Capt.
