Apparently Canadian fire fighters are struggling to contain a gigantic wildfire which started a week ago and has already burned through nearly 400 square miles in heavily forested Alberta with no end in sight, yet.
Authorities say the Ft. McMurray fire could easily double in size and it is one of 5 fires described as "out of control" among the 40 wildfires currently plaguing Alberta. I will be most curious to see if investigators can eventually track down a cause of this fire.

Naw, I don't suspect anything in particular. I'm merely curious to know more about the cause simply because I'm familiar with wildfires in this country and particularly the differences in they way fires spread and damage done which seems to vary depending up which state is suffering any particular fire. But don't ask me to elaborate on that or we'll have to continue this discussion in the Caucus Room (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

I would suspect lightning strikes is the cause. Its been a dry winter.

The monster fire raging in the Ft. McMurray area of Alberta, Canada has invaded the town itself, destroying about 1/5 of the homes. Still, officials say it's not as back as they feared:

saskatchewan sorry slipped into canadain slang Oh well, quite understandable. Because it's referred to so often as "The Big Apple" a great many people outside the U.S. recognize that as New York City. However, if I referred to Chitown, Beantown, Naptown, or The Big Easy you might not know I was referring to Chicago, Boston, Indianapolis or New Orleans. And so it goes.
